Theatre Classes
Currently we offer a variety of theatre classes to enable students to begin creating a foundation of acting training or to learn more about
theatre in general while having a lot of fun. Some of the courses offered during the fall, spring and summer are:
THE 1000 Introduction to Theatre 3cr.
TPP 1110 Acting 1 3cr.
TPP 1111 Acting 2 3cr.
TPA 1290 Performance Workshop 3cr.
TPA 1200 Stagecraft 3cr.
TPA 1248 Make-up for the stage 3cr.
THE 1304 Script Analysis 3cr.
TPP 1160 Voice and Movement Techniques 3cr.
Theatre scholarships are awarded to the college’s students based on incentive, demonstrated financial need, academic performance or talent.
School of Visual and Performing Arts Theatre
The A.A. Degree Program with a Theatre Emphasis is ideal for the student who wishes to pursue an acting career with local, regional, state, national, and/or international theatrical performance companies or the national amusement (theme park, cruise ship, night club, children’s theater) industry. Classes ranging from voice and movement for the actor to advanced scene study equip students with a firm foundation of acting and performance training. In addition, theatre arts program graduates will have the foundation of preparation necessary to transfer to a four-year college or university in pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in theatre arts/drama or specialized acting school such as AMDA or the Goodman Theatre School.
